Founder & CEO

Amir Mireskandari

In the early 1990’s, Mr. Amir Mireskandari worked at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) division of The World Bank in Washington, D.C. where he managed emerging markets loans and equity portfolios for the IFC. Mr. Mireskandari has also served as an advisor on privatization to the Kingdom of Morocco, the Government of Belize, and other various capacities to Governments of Jamaica and Barbados.

Mr. Mireskandari cofounded The Lugano Group, in 1998, a securities broker dealer firm which offered securities brokerage, advisory, investment and consulting services.

In 1999 he started Miresco Rugs Co. which grew to become one of the largest manufacturers, distributors, licensee developers and rug brands in the United States.

Mr. Mireskandari launched RMP Partners in 2010. RMP provided asset disposition and liquidation services. RMP Partners is now a holding company which owns and operates over a dozen privately held operating entities, focusing on the home furnishings, legal, and real estate industries.

Mr. Mireskandari earned both a B.B.A and M.B.A in International Business from George Washington University and completed his postgraduate studies in Management at Harvard Business School. Mr. Mireskandari is fluent in English, Farsi, French and Italian.

Mona Miles

Mona Miles has over 20 years of progressive leadership experience, consistently demonstrating a deep commitment for organizational success while maintaining the highest level of integrity. Ms. Miles currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer, where she leads the teams of various aspects of day-to-day operations, including financial, client services, project management, marketing and research. She oversees a staff of project management specialists and retail professionals committed to the success of the organization’s clients and partners.

Darlene Underwood

Darlene Underwood brings over 30 years of senior level experience in Human Resources, Operations, Organizational Management and Business Development. Her extensive background has included extensive experience working in consulting environments supporting companies with organizational and management restructuring, human resource development, organizational change, and corporate development. She specializes in areas of organizational growth, change management, succession planning, team development, employee coaching, and training and development.

Senior Financial Analyst

Michelle Sanchez

With a wealth of experience in financial strategy development and client relations, Michelle holds the position of Senior Financial Analyst. She is instrumental in driving financial planning initiatives, ensuring strategic decision-making, and maintaining a client-centric approach to financial services. Armed with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paralegal Studies, Michelle offers a unique blend of financial acumen and legal assistance operations proficiency. She possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration in team settings. With over six years of experience in client and customer relations, Michelle Sanchez is a dynamic Senior Financial Analyst, bringing a unique blend of financial insight and strategic thinking to Equitable Asset Management.

Michael Chang

Michael is a business leader experienced in real estate transactions, commercial property management, operating businesses across multiple industries, and finance and accounting. He is a licensed commercial and residential Realtor®.

Michael has worked with numerous companies to restructure and restore business profitability through asset monetization and interim management. He is results-oriented with proven ability to solve complex problems.

Senior Managing Director / Receiver

Jack Nichols

Jack is a licensed attorney with a robust business background. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota in 2008 and later earned a Juris Doctorate and MBA from Creighton University in 2012. Jack began his legal career at the national firm Lindquist & Vennum (now Ballard Spahr) before establishing his own practice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In his practice, Jack managed significant real estate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and other complex matters. His practice grew to become one of the largest bankruptcy filers in the state, leading to an interview with the president of the South Dakota Bar Association as a resource for attorneys entering the bankruptcy practice.

In 2020, Jack assumed the role of General Counsel at RMP Partners, a private equity
company that owns and operates various businesses. RMP Partners’ diverse portfolio
includes businesses in real estate, online retail, intellectual property licensing,
oil/gas/chemical transportation, art consulting and gallery, warehousing, legal support services, fraud and white-collar crime investigations, financial and payroll consulting, and retail stores.

In 2021, Jack expanded his responsibilities by becoming the General Counsel of the Texas Justice Center, a for-profit, full-service mediation and arbitration center serving
the alternative dispute resolution community of Southeast Texas.

In 2023, recognizing a shortage of receivers in Texas with hands-on business and real estate management experience, Jack helped establish and joined Equitable Asset Management as General Counsel. Jack continues to practice law at his firm, Jack J. Nichols, P.C., handling complex business transactions, litigation, and bankruptcy matters for a select group of corporate clients.

Joshua Thompson

Joshua Thompson is the Chief Information Officer responsible for all of EAM technology initiatives, including information technology and digital strategy spanning applications, data, servers, cybersecurity and infrastructure across the enterprise. He brings over 25 years of exceptional experience in the planning, development, delivery, and monitoring of technical solutions that address the needs of his clients in support of their missions, while maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

Prior to joining RMP Partners, Mr. Thompson was the Marketing Director of Fandango, where he directed the company’s branding, developed marketing strategies that drove customer growth and revenue efforts driving 4,000,000+ website visits, as well as creating scalable marketing processes ensuring maximum growth, revenue and profitability.

RESTRUCTURING AND TURNAROUND MANAGEMENT

Eric G. Carter

After honorably serving in the United States Marine Corps, he attended and graduated from Memphis State University in 1975, and graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1979. He was licensed to practice law in Texas in 1980. Eric G. Carter is the founding principal of The Carter Law Firm

Mr. Carter is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer who has been practicing for over 32 years. He has tremendous experience in restructuring and foreclosures, and has been involved in vast number of adverse proceedings. Most recently, he has counseled healthcare providers and organizations in a variety of healthcare legal matters and healthcare law topics.

Appraisal Specialist

David Lewis

Mr. Lewis has been engaged in the Art and Antique business for 35 years.  Currently, he owns and operates Lewis and Maese Auction house.

Lewis and Maese is the premier Auction house in Houston, the 4th largest city in the United States.  They sell estates for banks, trusts, law firms, and individuals.  Mr. Lewis is a licensed Appraiser with specialties in estates.  and a licensed auctioneer in the state of Texas.

With a poised and effective communication style, Jordan excels in navigating diverse business development scenarios, including those within multicultural environments. Her track record includes the successful orchestration of promotional campaigns and the meticulous management of large-scale events, consistently delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Additionally, she served as an event and relationship manager at a prominent restaurant based in River Oaks. Jordan’s educational background includes a bachelor of science in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Houston with an emphasis in event management.

Beyond her academic achievements, Jordan showcases proficiency in various technical skills such as graphic design, website development, creative and content writing, photo and video editing, as well as expertise in digital marketing and social media.

Maria T. Jackson

Judge Maria T Jackson has been the presiding judge of the 339th State District Court in Houston, Harris County, Texas since the 2008 election. Judge Jackson presides over serious felony offenses, which run the gamut from low-level drug offenses to capital murder.
Judge Jackson has served by appointment of the Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice as the presiding Judge in Cameron County, Texas. The United States Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, the District Attorneys of Alabama and the National Judicial College selected Judge Jackson as one of 24 judges from across the court to receive training at the National Computer Forensics Institute. From 2003-2008, Judge Jackson was appointed by the Mayor and City Council as a fulltime Municipal Court Judge for the City of Houston. During her tenure as a Municipal Court Judge, she also served as a trainer and instructor for the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center. She was previously a Municipal Board Attorney and a certified Mediator.

Wayne Greenwald

Wayne M. Greenwald represents the entire spectrum of parties-in-interest in debtor-creditor matters and cases under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. He has extensive experience in business and commercial litigation and assists clients at all phases of dispute resolution, including pre-claim negotiations, mediation, arbitration and trial.Wayne M. Greenwald has been concentrating in debtor-creditor law for more than 30 years. He was the assistant chair of the Defense Research Institute’s Special Litigation Group on Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy. He formerly served as co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s commercial fraud task force.

VICE PRESIDENT

Ken Biorsky

Trial Attorney and then a Senior Trial Attorney with the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”) in Washington, DC from 1969 to 1983, where I represented the Government in a broad range of tax litigation. My duties included coordination with various divisions in the national and field offices of the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”), negotiation of settlements, and the handling of all aspects of pretrial discovery, trial, briefing, oral argument, and appeal. I was a charter recipient in 1977 of the Tax Division’s Outstanding Attorney Award, which I again received in 1981. In 1982 as a result of my involvement with the litigation of a number of investment tax credit (“ITC”) cases, I was selected by the Justice Department’s Assistant Attorney General (Tax Division) to head a study of the Government’s ITC ruling and audit policies and practices, and to prepare the Government’s brief in a lawsuit seeking to enjoin one of the then “Big-8” accounting firms (Ernst & Whinney) from deceptive and abusive practices in the preparation of ITC studies for clients.

John boasts extensive experience in the real estate industry, possessing a profound understanding of its intricacies and dynamics accumulated over numerous years of dedicated work. He demonstrates exceptional skills as a receiver, adept at efficiently managing incoming legal documents and correspondence. John’s talent lies in his ability to swiftly but accurately process and organize crucial information, ensuring seamless communication. With a keen eye for detail and a strong grasp of procedures, he plays a vital role in facilitating smooth operation of the court’s administrative functions. John is an active member of the Houston Real Estate Investment Association, Houston Association of Realtors, The Center for Black Equity, and The Houston Black Real Estate Association, to name a few.

John is a seasoned real estate leader with over 30 years of experience, currently holding a Texas Real Estate Brokers License since 2001. As a Principal and Broker at Conveyance Real Estate, LLC, John oversees all facets of brokerage and project management, demonstrating a wealth of expertise in corporate real estate management, program and project management, construction management, and departmental management.

In his role as Principal at Conveyance Real Estate, John leads a dynamic real estate firm serving the State of Texas, providing comprehensive real estate services. His commitment to excellence is evident in his collaborative approach to business, making him a natural leader and team builder.

Throughout his distinguished career, John has held key leadership positions, including Vice President of Project Management at Cresa International, Inc., where he covered the Texas market and serviced 8 international clients. As the Regional Director of Project Management and Real Estate Broker at Newmark Knight Frank, Inc., he managed a vast coverage area, establishing 8 new international accounts and 2 regional accounts.

John’s career highlights also include roles such as Manager of Corporate Real Estate – North America at Aker Kvaerner, where he achieved significant cost savings through real estate portfolio realignment. Additionally, as a Senior Project Manager at BP/JCI, he played a pivotal role in a $178M office regentrification project.

His comprehensive experience extends to the financial sector, having served as a Project Manager at Wells Fargo Bank and contributing to the construction of new retail banks and office spaces across multiple states. Furthermore, John served as the Director of Real Estate at Security Finance Group, a REIT company located in Washington, DC.

In his current role at EAM, John brings a unique skill set to the table. He has overseen the construction of several million square feet of tenant improvement projects across North America, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex projects for Fortune 50 companies. John’s strong financial background, combined with his extensive experience in facilities and portfolio management, provides him with a distinctive insight into his clients’ real estate needs.

John’s commitment to excellence, diverse skill set, and leadership in various facets of real estate make him an invaluable resource both as a receiver and in providing professional support to receivers. His proven track record of success and collaborative approach positions him as a trusted advisor in the real estate industry.
